How exactly do you scrunch hair?

i've heard loads about scrunching, n i get the basic concept, but does it actually create nice wavy hair? i have a L'oreal studio line mousse, so how should i use that to have great hair? my hair is fairly straight and about 2 inches past my shoulder. im looking for that sexy, toussled look thats everywhere these days, if anyone has better suggestions, then please let me know! Thanx!

Try pin curling first. When you get out of the shower, put a bit of that mousse in your damp hair. Wrap each section around your finger, up to the scalp and then bobby pin it to your head. I do about 5-6 sections, but do more if you have a lot of hair. Leave it pinned for about 1 or 1 1/2 hours (don't sleep in pin-curls or leave them too long or it will curl too much) and then, unpin it. Blow it dry with a diffuser, but don't comb or run your fingers through. You can "scrunch" it while you're drying it. When you're done, you can comb the ends only, if they look scraggly and fluff your hair with your fingers. Spray with a little light hair spray.

btw, I usually use a product for texture or volume. Mousse tends to leave hair kind of stiff and crispy, but I recommended it because you seem like you want to use it. If you want to get something else, try a volume or texture serum instead of gel or mousse. If not, just use the mousse underneath, at the roots, not on top of your hair.

heat comb!

All you need to do is use your hands with a bit of styling product and start crumpling the ends of your hair in your hand. Do this all over your head starting from roots to ends. Be careful not to use too much styling product, just enough to make your hair look a bit messy and keep working it.

Soon you wil have scrunched hair with a great look.

well i have naturally wvay hair.. but i have helped my freinds with scruntching ..

just when your hair is damp put you head upside down. get your mousse out .. and put a bunch in your hair , then just play with it as if there are balls in your hair lol. like create some handful sizes of your hair in balls .. and then just highly blow dry it possibly

best awnsER? lol

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but with straight hair it probably won't get as wavy as you like. It's just hard to get straight hair that wavy. You could try curling it, then fingering the curls out and then scrunching them.

Otherwise for just the tousseled look just scrunch like normal or put the mousse in wet hair, scrunch some and then blow dry without combing it. It'll look windblown.
