It varies from girl to girl, but most of the girls I know seem to like a shorter 'do n tehir guys. Me, I think any man who looks good with a mane SHOULD have one----but like I said, that's just me.

it depends! some guys just can't pull off the shaggy look and it makes them look ridiculous. other guys with shaggy hair just wouldn't be quite the same if they had short spiky hair.

I'm inclined to say shorter, but the key is always a good haircut, well styled but not 'Breck Girlish' (i.e. you care, but aren't obsessed), and particularly: clean and shiny - not from oil or products, though.

If you have any balding, stay short. You don't have to shave it, but keep it short enough that people don't think you are trying to compensate for something.

The nice thing is that it is easy to play around with short, and not quite so short. It's harder on girls who have a range from pixie short to tushie long.
