Pretty much all male models, actors, rock stars, etc are clean shaven, and are considered by a great many to be incredibly sexy. What is it about beards or goatees that's unappealing? Or can neat facial hair, in fact, be sexy?

Yes, it can be sexy but it depends on each persons individual tastes. I love facial hair on guys! Johnny Depp often has facial hair and I like him better with it than without. I love his look in Secret Window. He just has a little bit and mm he's gorgeous! And Rob Zombie, not when he had that really long beard lol but how he looks recently. There are celebrities who have beards/goatees/etc., nothing wrong with it :].
